Notre Dame

Gone...
Burned down, collapsed... a masterpiece of Medieval Gothic architecture that has remained with us for many centuries and it's gone, even if it could be rebuilt all the art work, the stained glass, records, antics all those these intimate details within cannot be rebuilt. It will not be Notre Dame it will be something else that cannot replace the old.
I've been there once when I was 15 on a schoold trip and I never got to see much of it just the main floor, I wanted to go back there and take my wife there who had never been there before and now I can't.
No doubt all of you know this already and I am sorry for this journal but Notre Dame has a special meaning to me not just because I was marvelled by it was I first saw it during my teens but because I learned long ago that Notre Dame was going to be pulled down during the colonel times in favour of modern architect. It was already too old in that time but that cathedral was saved thanks to a story called the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Because of that novel Notre Dame the people were reminded of it's importance and had preserved it fully instead of changing it or knocking it down it was made stronger standing for centuries onward and has always been an inspiration for artists, architectures, sculptures, writers, engineers ect.
Notre Dame is proof that a single building can mean just as much as a loved one, a prized possession, a home, a place, a goal anything at all.
Still nothing lasts forever.

I'm getting married

Next week I will be wedded to 
it has been a long time coming and after all of the great times and moments of drama it's finally happening. I'm financially struggling, I hate my job and I have a lot to do and a lot of expectations to behold. Despite all of this I know this is the right woman for me and this is the right choice for us. She has helped me mature in ways I never would have on my own yet still I make stupid mistakes. She has improved my creativity so much and yet I suffer from a lot of problems artists typically have. Despite all the things that happened or will happen I think what kept us inseperable is that very weird sense of humor we both understand and share... Oh and other romantic stuff I guess xD
Hopefully this will bring us both towards great changes or at the very least many happy years together.

Hogmanay 2019!

Always wish the next year to better than the last. It's always about the start of something new, a new life and while sometimes I don't feel like much about me or my life has changed that isn't the case. Something always happens to me and I have a reflection upon it, but it isn't always about learning it's about acting on them as well. My resolutions for 2019 are definite not jsut cos it's the new year but because me and my girlfriend have sworn to them and so hopefully 2019 will be the beginning our creative collaboration and our path to a better life together.

Just want to send this out to everyone here that watches and to those that took part in my Massive Middle Earth Collab. Check out the journal for an update for anyone due to submit after christmas and those that are still interested in drawing a character.
To anyone worried about the collab it is over but you can still draw a character and sumit your character at any time afterwards. There's no more deadlines until I post the big murel in summer 2018, no exact date so keep your brushes and pens ready after the holidays

The goal of this collab is to draw all the Lord of the Rings characters we can!
:iconattention-plz: PLEASE READ ALL THE RULES BEFORE SIGNING UP! I don't want you to draw a character and not be allowed in because you missed a rule.You don't need to watch me to join in the collaboration, but it's highly recommended at least for the duration of the collab because if I have any updates, I'm going to tell you on this journal. Once the collab is fully finished then you may unwatch me if you wish.
